Pistolera

Critically acclaimed New York band Pistolera has toured its accordion-driven dance songs in six different countries since its debut in 2005. Fans around the world are dancing cumbias to the group's socially conscious songs--en español--about immigrants' rights, war, racism, feminism, and life on the border. Their albums encompass rock, latin, dance, and balladic styles with evocative lyrcis and musical interludes. Billboard raves, “The musicianship is superb here, and it’s a pleasure to listen to a whole museum of brass, bongos, congas, caxixi, maracas and pandereta incorporated beautifully into a sound that doesn’t fit neatly into any genre. If this is homework it gets an A.”
