Meredith Vieira [co-anchor of the TODAY show] and Amy Rapp, through their company, Meredith Vieira Productions, are producing the national tour of LIFE IN A MARITAL INSTITUTION.

LIFE IN A MARITAL INSTITUTION is a poignant, darkly humorous autobiographical comedy set improbably in a hospice, James sits at the bedside of his dying sister, who asks him to trade places with her. Until she realizes that would mean trading places with him...being in his marriage...a fate worse than death!

This one man show features James Braly, a comedic storyteller/monologist, who has won The Moth GrandSlam Storytelling Competition twice, been featured on "This American Life", and has performed his autobiographical stories around the country.

LIFE A MARITAL INSTITUTION premiered at Edinburgh Fringe, had a sold-out Off-Off-Broadway run at 59E59, and then a critically-acclaimed Off-Broadway run at Soho Playhouse. Don’t miss the play that The Herald describes as, “Disarming insight into how the male mind works.”
